This mirror is as gorgeous as you expect it to be. I love it. That said, there are two reasons I couldn't give it 5 stars. First, although it was very well packaged for shipping, it did arrive with some of the shells broken. Most I was able to repair by gluing them back together but that was a little disappointing. The second reason is a little bit of the perfectionist in me coming out...let me explain. The oyster shells are glued to the wood frame of the mirror. There is a rope around the outline of the mirror. And between those layers are a couple of rows of small white shells. These shells are askew and not in neat rows. Perhaps neat rows are impossible to achieve. I am sure those rows are there to conceal all the glue that holds the rope and the oyster shells to the mirror. Unfortunately, even with the skewed small white shells, you can see a lot of the glue, especially because it is a yellowish color and not white or clear.Ultimately I really do like this mirror and although I knew I would have been able to make it myself, I decided to purchase it and save myself all the hard work. It hangs in my entranceway and everyone who comes sees it before anything else and falls in love with it. It's only upon closer inspection that the flaws become obvious.
