The dialogues get kinda corny and I'd forgotten about how Giles Habibula's seemingly endless blubbering in the third-person narrative that he's always at the edge of starvation (hardly) and how that he's many times saved the Legion with no thanks given, and his incredible gluttony (especially for wine) gets irritating at times. Oh, and as usual (prevalent even in today's novels) there's an impossibly beautiful woman who falls in love with the hero......All that aside, the stories are a fun read and bring back memories of old sci-fi stories I read during the halcyon days of the '60's.
