I REALLY wanted to love this table because it’s exactly what I was looking for size wise and the only other brand I saw that made something like this had a ton of bad reviews, this one had 4 stars from one person so I took a chance… I ordered the espresso one but it looks more like the dark brown. The directions suck because it’s all pictures, which is fine, but sometimes things need to be explained when there’s just arrows everywhere and holes that don’t match up. Anyhow, I said I’d deal with it and started putting it together myself around 2pm and did not finish until 6:30pm and then needed a drink. lol I had to ask for help and we both were having a hard time because the damn thing kept falling apart (the hardware they give sucks) and there are tiny dots for screw holes that you can barely see. I would recommend using glue for the dowels but only after you know for sure everything is correct because I had to take it apart twice. I also suggest starting with 2 people because when I had to turn a piece around another piece fell to the side and broke (like a big chip) near where the dowel is. Thank god it was on the inside because I tried gluing it and it looks like crap. There are two pieces on the sides that they refer to as E/F… problem is they are exactly alike while one should be finished on the reversed side because the bare wood shows about an inch. It’s not that noticeable because it’s under the top part that sticks out a little further. They give you matching colored little round stickers to cover the screws so I’m going to try and cut two of them and cover it. According to the barely there markers for the screws the top needs to be put on a specific way. I suggest laying table on its side. The metal side bar things attached to the springs that lift it had like 100 holes in it and you only needed 3 screws for one side but the holes were not lining up and it was super difficult to see. That and the fact that it is NOT clear which way the damn things go is what took the longest time, and I was actually debating on just returning it because by that point I lost all patience. (Mind you, I actually like putting stuff together. lol) But I honestly did not want to waste anymore time taking it apart and repackaging everything so I took yet another chance to wait and see how it looked when we finally finished. I’ll be honest it doesn’t look too bad. Kinda cheap looking but it fits perfectly where I wanted it to go for the time being. When it lifts up it’s about the same height as my couch seats so it’s a little low if you wanted to use it as a table to eat or do work on. Unless you don’t mind hunching over. Do I like the concept of this table? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to others? Not without telling them all the issues I had and I guess leave it up to them to decide. Was it worth $100? NOT AT ALL and I’m basing that mostly on the terrible hardware and lack of clear explanation. I would’ve preferred to have paid half of that and not feel as frustrated and angry so much since I knew I “got what I paid for” because I’d expect those type of issues. I rarely ever leave reviews and figured “it’s just a small table. lol” but now I wish I took pictures as I was assembling it. A video would have been hilarious to others I’m sure. So I just had a few pics to share. Hope this helps someone.
