I will start this review off by how I found this precious jewel of a band. I was looking for a similar album like Tiamat's "Amanethes". I realize there is virtually no comparison between the two bands here, but after looking at album after album in the "People who bought this also bought..." I came upon Die So Fluid's "Not Everybody Get's A Happy Ending". It had a couple of reviews to it and the name caught my attention as different. I read the reviews and decided to go to Youtube to check them out. That is where I found the video for "Mercury". That is where I also found a killer band that has seemed to go basically unnoticed, which a crime in this instance. So thanks for dealing with my banter to this point. What we have with Die So Fluid is a band that has not been given it's proper recognition. They are a straight up hard rock band with a nice coating of heavy metal that can seriously throw down. They have hooks a plenty and great musicianship that make them so much different than the cookie cutter bands that some of the other reviews for their other albums have unjustifiably been labled with. Are they something new that hasn't been done before??? No. But they do what they do so well that they set themselves apart from the rest. The dynamics they create kind of remind me of Saliva's first album which I happen to love. Die So Fluid do not have some of the cheese that was associated with that album(Click Click Boom--even though it's good)but the songwriting, depth, hooks and dynamics strike me as similar. If you don't like Saliva please don't curse this band for my comparison, it's just what my ear hears. I have a cd collection of over 600 and this album has found a home in higher ranks of what I listen to, it's just that good. If you like people that can write killer songs, play their instruments for what is called for and nothing less and deserve a higher level of recognition in the music industry, then give this album a shot. Not a 5 star album, it is a 10 star. Anyone who likes serious hard rock/metal that knows what melody that is out of the norm is should fall in love with this 3 piece band who own what they do and make no appologies. A "MUST HAVE" album!
