Description

Rear outlet toilets are also referred to as rear discharge toilets, back flush toilets, or P-Trap toilets. Back flushing toilets are the perfect option when ground flushing models will not work. A standard toilet has an “S” trap internal configuration, whereby waste exits down through the toilet and into a sewer system that must be located below the toilet. In basement applications, you must couple it with a macerator pump (not included). With the rear outlet, you don’t have to tear up the floor to connect your toilet. Installation and repairs are also easier since you don’t have to lift the toilet (which can disrupt the wax seal). Another benefit in smaller bathroom applications is space. The rear outlet toilet tends to be a bit narrower than a standard model. When every inch counts, this toilet helps create a greater sense of space between the toilet and vanity or between the toilet and shower/bath. Our rear outlet toilet kit is family-friendly because the toilet bowl measures only 17 inches from the seat to the floor, making it easier for children to use. This kit features a half flush and full flush button located on the top of the tank, a great feature that saves water and is cost-effective. You will be able to choose how much water is needed per flush, whether you are flushing solids or liquids. The lids on the Lift Assure toilets have a soft-closing hinge that will prolong the life of the lid. Rear outlet: 3-inch inside diameter, 3¾-inch outside diameter. The flush button is located on the top of the tank.

I needed to have a rear exit toilet to add a bathroom in a second floor, as the normal floor exit toilets arrangement would not work. I bought this toilet based on the rear exit style trap an the aesthetics. It does fit the look of the modern bathroom. The hardware is cheap, after a year the handle has broken and it's been difficult to find a side flush handle that functions properly as a replacement. The #1 issue that I have hated since day one is that the flush water falls down the rear of the toilet bowl only and stirs the water in the bottom of the toilet after use. Mixing the waste and water rather than flushing and removing all water and waste in the toilet. It isn't uncommon for my new bathroom remodel with lots of expensive tile and glass shower, etc to smell like urine. The flow of the toilet seems flawed in design. I'm contemplating replacing the toilet with a different one, but will first seek a plumbers advice if this is a design flaw common to rear exit trap designs vs traditional bottom exit.
