There was'nt much not to like. In fact, I gave it a tet run to make sure it was totally functional & ready to go this winter. This Mr. Heater is Awesome. Can't wait to use it.There older model was not half as good as this one! It works fine and puts out the heat! I added a small fan next to it and it help even more to heat my large one room cabin! Was easy to install produces a lot of heat NOT MY PRIMARY SOURCE OF HEAT, I would not recommend this for primary heat source. That being said it will knock the chill off in a hurry would recommend.Blue flames make it seem your sitting in front of a small log fireI bought one of these two years ago and have been very happy with it. Recently bought another one to have as a backup when it went on sale. The new one did not come with a glass front like the original. I emailed Mr. Heater technical support and was told that they no longer come with the glass front. Disappointed in that, hopefully doesn't cause any safety issues. At the least, I should be able to use the glass from my original unit.My first unit has worked well heating my 500 sq. ft cabin at 6800ft elevation. Usually run it between the 1 - 1.5 setting on dial and keeps it around 68 at night. It has started having the small ball of flame when reigniting that other people have described.Using it to heat a She Shed.. nice..Fit and finish aren't great, and they shipped me 3 screws to mount the feet on the unit when 4 are needed. Also, there's a knockout panel in the back intended to allow you to mount a fan. They tac-welded the panel at 4 points and you'll need a dremel to cut it free - try to tap or pry it out and you'll bend the cheap metal housing. The instructions don't match the unit. It talks about a red "igniter cap" when what it means is a black igniter button. You'll figure it out, but you'll be annoyed. Well, I was. And, this is nearby verbatim from the instructions: "No batteries required for operation. You need an AAA battery for the pilot light igniter." Literally, both sentences were in the same paragraph. Lest you wounder, yes, the pilot lighter requires an AAA battery. AAA batteries have a tendency to go bad in storage, and get used up quickly, meaning if you're going to use this thing for backup heating when the power fails, you might be in for a rude surprise. This would have been a fine place for a replaceable, rechargeable 18650 lithium battery that would be guaranteed to still work in cold weather in ten years, but this unit is far too cheap for that. Buy some long matches just in case - and be careful.1. Mr. Heater Corporation F299730,30,000 BTU Vent Free Blue Flame Propane Heater, MHVFB30LPT2. Camco Low Pressure Gas Regulator with 6' Hose 7000 BTUs/Hr Simple and Quick Install - Use with Low Pressure Gas Fired Heaters (57703)3. Mr. Heater One-Stop Universal Gas-Appliance Hook-Up Kit4. Order a 1/2 female to 3/8 male flare fitting if you plan to use the cutoff valve in the kit.Okay, I just purchased this heater and I can't be more pleased with my decision. I read the reviews and many of the negative things you're reading is because people purchased without reading first. Just like a previous reviewer stated about the elbow that comes with the heater -- DON'T USE IT PERIOD!!! DON'T ATTEMPT IT AT ALL! Just buy the Mr. Heater One-Stop Universal Gas-Appliance Hook-Up Kit -- Now with this I used everything but one 1/2 male pipe to 1/2 female flare because it wouldn't fit onto the Camco low pressure gas regulator I purchased because its 3/8 (So you need to go to home depot and buy a 1/2 female pipe to 3/8 male flare and probably more plumbers tape because its not enough in the kit. That's all you need to get this working.Absolutely, no need to wait months for parts that is just ridiculous!!!! Home depot has everything you need or your nearest plumbing supply store to get this connected. I don't believe anyone would buy this product then wait months for parts to arrive. Just doesn't make sense when you can get them locally. Now to address the cutting off part when operating this is normal -- and the heater with cut on/off while operating which is awesome because you don't have to continue to adjust the setting. It goes from blue flame to pilot then back on in intervals, so this is what people is referring to then they said it comes with a thermostat. Nothing you will see on the product it just does it automatically and is a nice feature that will save on propane.Next, I seen people complain about the smell of that comes with this heater, but I can truly say I don't smell any odor and I haven't had to open any windows yet. I do have a Kidde fire alarm with a CO2 detector this sits in the same room about 5 feet away and it hasn't triggered. It doesn't make you sick and dizzy these comments are misleading.Blower fan: The fan isn't needed at all so don't waste your money buying it.I would address more but just listen to what people already told others and this product will work fine and you won't be disappointed. Don't reinvent the wheel if someone already tried the elbow and it failed. Don't continue to use it because you think you have the magic touch.
