I am a huge fan of Heather's first two secular CDs for Clive Davis, but I always felt she was holding something back or being stifled in some way. I loved the warmth and soulfulness of those CDs, but being aware of all the Broadway buzz, I knew there had to be something that was not captured.This collection does it. Her voice is more expressive, soulful, warm, dramatic, and inspirational than her previous outings. Her choice of several originals and covers has set her up to deliver songs that serve "her" voice in a way we have not heard before.The production is looser and more authentic than the Davis CDs, Keith Thomas is a great collaborater. Some of the arrangements are bit reminiscent of Celine Dion (which in itself is not a bad thing), in fact Heather's voice pulls those moments off big time. Let's face it, she came from Broadway and all these songs serve her voice exceptionally well.Now, let's get this talented woman more attention. The best songs on this CD are her originals that she wrote with Keith or Iric Headley Jr. Keeping writing your own songs girl! They allow you to be the "Real Heather .I can't wait for the next one!
