First thing, I love that this Gempler's Soil Probe is one rod. It isn't broken up into pieces that I need to install. The only thing I had to do was attach the foot pedal with the included hex key. This is made of a high-quality metal that can withstand a beating. The handles are placed at the appropriate width, and the foot pedal is adjustable to your specifications. The only difficulty I found was removing soil from the probe. I had to use a screwdriver to unpack it instead of their being some kind of release-assistant built into the probe. However, this soil was pretty compacted in this area so that could have been the issue as well. I wouldn't go and fault Gempler's for that, but it is worth mentioning. This is a great starter soil probe if you're interested in doing soil testing for your lawn & garden. I couldn't ask for a better quality product!
