This is a great bread knife - whatever you need to cut, it's the right size and more than sharp enough to go through it. Works for slicing cakes in half as well. By the way - did I mention it's sharp? My son cut himself putting it away - so treat it as you would any real kitchen knife. This knife should last you a lifetime - I've been using Wusthoff for years and they just don't wear out - and they take sharpening very, very well. I can't recommend this knife enough.
